In need of a new photo for your desktop? We have one for you! The great ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica are huge piles of old snow compressed to ice, and spreading under their own weight. They grow by snowfall on top, and shrink by melting around the sides and by formation of icebergs in marginal seas. These networking events are for AAAS members wanting to make personal and professional connections in their local community both inside and outside their own disciplines. The events include short lectures by AAAS members. View photos from our AAASLocal events held in North America, Australia and Germany.
